*HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS KICK-OFF CEREMONY*

*ABOUT THE MISSION:*
Homes for Our Troops will be building  a mortgage-free home for a local
disabled Marine Corps. veteran, Cpl. Dan Lasko, in Wind Gap.  He enlisted
shortly out of high school and coincidentally was sworn in on the morning
of 9-11-01.  In 2004 Cpl. Lasko was deployed to Afghanistan as a vehicle
machine gunner with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit when he was on a
recon mission and  an IED exploded as his vehicle drove through a pass in
Tarin Kowt. He suffered the loss of his left leg below the knee, sustained
a traumatic brain injury, and various other injuries.  After coping with
his injuries for over 15 years, he is now medically retired but it has
taken a toll on him physically.  He remains active coaching youth sports,
speaking at schools and local events, and competing in appropriate
athletic events. Dan resides with his wife and two young sons but his
current home presents a challenge on days that he needs to use his
crutches, knee scooter or wheelchair and that is where Homes for Our Troops
stepped in.  The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to escort Dan's
family to the kick off ceremony and to stand flagline for the arrival at
the site.
