We saw our Brother Billy off in a unique ceremony during these strange times. Again, I Thank You all for coming together, looking so good with short notice! Please see my message (yesterday) from Denise D’Ambrosia … it was how Billy would have wanted it!

The Sweet … again BKNY15 has been invited to participate in the RHPD PO Rob Sproston Escort Home from St. Charles Rehab (see prior txt/email), along with SCPD, NYSP, RHTPD, SHTPD, etc. Tomorrow Friday 5/15.

Now for the Bitter, I received a phone call from former BKNY15 member and co-worker, Joe Doorhy (Ret. SHTPD) with important information that unfortunately hits close to home for some. I served in the Southampton Town PD for 17yrs as a Bay Constable before transferring to East Hampton Town PD/Marine Patrol (’06). During my time at SHTPD I worked with Mark Sidor, a Court Officer. He has 36yrs on his job as a CO. On Monday 5/11 he was found dead (56 yrs old) in his office at the courthouse. Joe Doorhy, has reached out asking for our participation, I thought it would be appropriate, so he put me in touch with the Southampton Town Police PBA President Erik Breitwieser, who echoed the same. Numerous Police Agencies, Emerald Society, FD’s, etc will also be in attendance. The WX appears to be excellent. I realize, this has been a busy week, but our active Brothers & Sisters are requesting our assistance.

ONLY if you plan on attending, Text me at 631-953-5278, so we have a head count and wear your parade uniform or as close as you can get. This weekend will be a wake and formation for Mark and due to the ongoing Coronavirus it will be different then normal.

There will be a wake on Saturday at Scott Rothwell Funeral Home on Ponquogue Ave in Hampton Bays. Due to the social distancing there is specific times for members to go and pay there respects. Members of the Police Department are scheduled to attend at 1230PM and all social distancing procedures will be in place. I would ask anyone planning on attending to be there by 1200-1215 to help so we can be lined up and orderly going in as it needs to move as quickly as possible to get everyone through.

At 2PM a procession will head to the EQFD where only FD and immediate family will have a memorial service.

There will be a PD formation with us and the other departments in attendance as that procession leaves the funeral home.
