Richard Landon Smith have asked the Patriot Guard Riders to stand in honor of Richard’s
service to this nation on Friday, May 20<sup>th</sup>, 2022</span></a></p>

the day after his 17<sup>th</sup> birthday in 1967 and proudly served in
Vietnam as a Medical Specialist. After 9 years of active duty and 2 years
reserves, he worked as an Orthopedic Physician Assistant at the Baltimore VA Hospital
and was an amazing advocate for veterans there. Many of them called him “Doc”.<br>
for his service Richard received the National Defense Service Medal, the
Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Good Conduct
Medal, and 2 Overseas Bars.</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif;background-image:initial;background-position:initial;background-size:initial;background-repeat:initial;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial"></span></p>
