The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked by the family of US Army Vietnam
Veteran Sergeant Lawrence W. (Larry) Carter to stand in his honor at
his viewing and interment. Larry served his country with the 1st Cavalry
Division, in the Vietnam War. For his service he received the Bronze Star,
and the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster
He was a member of the Michael J. Novosel, MOH, Capital Area Chapter 542
Vietnam Veterans of America, Sgt. 1st Class Randall Shughart, MOH, Special
Forces Memorial Chapter LXIV (64) and VFW Post #23, Lebanon.  Larry was
committed to honoring our Veterans and our POW/MIA’s, making sure they
would never be forgotten. He was the co-founder of the PA Concerned
Citizens for POW/MIA, and he founded the 1st Air Cavalry Division Field
Cross Detail with his wife, Carol. Together with many comrades, they
performed the “Field Cross” ceremony for 30 years.
Sgt. Lawrence W. Carter served his country honorably in the Vietnam War and
we will be there to honor his service to our nation with a flag line at his
celebration of life and again as he is interred at IGNC with military
honors Sgt. Lawrence W. Carter is a true patriot who served our country
with honor and now it's our turn to stand and honor him.
