This is being put together by his nurse who is handling arrangements, She
wishes to give him an honorable send off and is requesting we join them. I
would suggest if going to Cemetery to be there before 12:45. It is approx.
20 miles from Funeral home. I have no clue what time Interment is. This is

****Vietnam Veteran with no family Funeral Service--please help him be
honored... this post is public on my wall if you want to share it****

Requesting Patriot Honor Guard:- this is what I posted on the page this
morning-- I'm also not sure if we might need a police escort if many bikes
show up.... my post has already been shared over 200 times in less than 12
hours.

I made a post on my wall last week about a veteran patient of mine who
passed away last Monday.

His name was Sargent Matthew Kelly and he served in the Army. He was
enlisted into the military in January 1969 and stationed at Ft. Bragg. He
was sent to Vietnam in December 1969 and was there until November 1970. He
grew up in Philadelphia and much of his life after the military is unknown.
His parents and brother passed away when he was young and he was married
but divorced early and had no children.

Matthew's life was hard and he was one of the forgotten. I had been one of
his nurses for a little over a year and had been on hospice care since
March. He told me his final wishes. He never got that "welcome home" and he
told me that he wanted "all the honors" and "a military service"...I want
to honor his wishes and my director has allowed me to make his final
arrangements.

Sargent Matthew Kelly will be laid to rest with full honors on July 10,
2019 at 1pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Rd,
Newtown, PA 18940). It will be a closed casket. There will be a
processional starting at 12p sharp from Galzerano Funeral Home (9304 Old
Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia PA 19115) to Washington Crossing by way of
Bustleton Ave to Bustleton Pike (Rt 532).

He will be escorted by members of Rolling Thunder PA Chapter 1, the
American Legion Post 263, as well as several other chapters. The Vietnam
Veterans will be doing an honor tribute at the funeral home to send him off
and Doc Speight Sr of the American Legion Post 738 will be conducting the
service[image: ❤]

I am asking for help in giving him the proper send off [image: ❤] ......if
you ride a motorcycle or just want to be part of the processional please be
at the funeral home by 11:30a....if you want to just meet at Washington
Crossing National Cemetery please be there by 1245p....or if you cannot
make it but are close to the route and can wave a flag in his honor...I
know he would have loved that[image: ❤]

Also... I'm asking for everyone to bring a can of Pepsi in his honor. Kelly
LOVED Pepsi!!!

>From the bottom of my heart....thank you already to all those who said they
would come[image: ❤] thank you for helping him to be remembered[image: ❤] Kelly
was a very good man and deserves this[image: ❤]
