Fellow Patriot Guard Riders,

As we all are hopefully with our families or friends, let us remember the reason for today ... those who did not come home. Today is not the day to thank our veterans, that is Veteran's Day. Today is not the day to thank our Service Members, that was Armed Forces Day. Today is about those who paid the price for our Freedom with their life.

Many personal friends right now are grieving the loss of a comrade in arms, my heart is aching for you. Just know there are friends out here that care deeply for you ... reach out and talk with them. Maybe not about the pain you are feeling or why, but about how bad the Buccos or Phillies are in such a rut, or the weather and deciding on building an Arc or not. Reach out and talk. I am here for you, even though I may not have the right weaponry in my arsenal to help you, I know how to call in close air support!

Please, before you sit down the the picnic/BBQ/meal think back and relay to the younger members of your family about the last 13 years of the Patriot Guard Riders' Honor Missions, the wars fought in the desert sands, the jungles, the mountains, the beaches and airspace of 2 oceans/3 continents, the covert & Cold Wars, and right here on our own soil ... remember those who signed that bank check that was their lives to the American People. Say their names aloud ... a coward dies a thousand times before their death, a warrior dies but twice, once upon the battlefield and once when he is forgotten.

I want to thank all of you, who do so much for our Nations Hero's and their grieving families. You take time away from your families to spend a few hours with perfect strangers to ensure they are comforted in knowing there are those who DO care about the sacrifices their loved one has made through their service to our Nation. And although today is not about the service member deployed or in basic training who cannot be with family, think of them as well, they also need our support.

--

Respectfully,
ⓋTimmaye!!!
Timothy N Smith
Master Sergeant, United States Air Force (Retired)
State Captain
Senior Ride Captain, Region 10
Patriot Guard Riders of Pennsylvania : " * HONOR * DIGNITY * RESPECT * "

"Our Flag does not fly of its own accord ... it flies as our Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen & Coasties rush past to protect her!" ~Timothy N Smith 2014

If you forward this e-mail, PLEASE,
