 Ladies & Gentlemen,
As the President of the United States addresses our Nation, I'd like to
take the opportunity to address all of you about how our Patriot Guard
Riders of Pennsylvania organization is forging ahead to honor our Nation's
military, first responders and veterans.
Over the last year we have had 204 Missions across the Commonwealth ... 7
PGRPA Honor Missions, 2 of which were Senior Ride Captains. Our missions
included First Responders (Firefighters/Police/Corrections Officers),
Active Duty/National Guard/Reservists (both Killed in Action and Deaths on
Active Duty), and Veterans.
The conflict eras ranged from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Desert
Shield/Storm, and the War on Terrorism (Operations Iraqi & Enduring
Freedom, and now Operation Freedom's Sentinel). There were repatriations
from both World War II and Korea, one hero returning home after 72+
years!!!
Several of our missions last year also included Homes for Our Troops, a
non-profit organization that gives post-9/11 combat wounded veterans a 100%
mortgage-free home that is tailored to their disability. Others included
Flag Raisings & Retirements, Honor Ceremonies, and one of the funnest ...
Snowball Express, a non-profit organization that was absorbed by the Gary
Sinese Foundation that sends Gold Star Children and the surviving parent to
Disney World for a week of fun, but also to help them deal with the issues
of losing their loved one.
Each and every Patriot Guard Rider that attended a mission, left a
condolence message or said a prayer for our Heroes had a marked impact on
their families, some to the point of BECOMING Patriot Guard Riders
themselves. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and eternity of my
soul. YOU are why the Patriot Guard Riders have carried the banner of
Patriotism, Honor, Dignity & Respect.
There are still thousands (yes thousands!!!) of members out there that
have not gone to National and update their settings. Of the 6,296 members
on Pennsylvania State Captains Roster, there are less than 500 who have
updated their password/profiles. If you are one of the former versus the
latter, please go to https://patriotguard.org to ensure you are finding out
about our very important mission, for our Nation's Heroes!
I hope to eventually shake every hand of every member of the PGRPA. I
hope you reach out to me or any leadership position if you have any
questions or concerns, but please remember to use your chain of command or
inform those in your chain. If you have the slightest inkling of wanting
to become a Ride Captain, or not sure what a Ride Captain does ... send an
email to your Senior Ride Captain, your Assistant State Captain or myself
and we will get you on the right path to succeed!

I commend your willingness to stand with us and for others, and encourage
you to reach out to friends and neighbors to join you on a mission, one is
all it will take
