*SFC Lee R. Goozdich Retired*

*U.S. Navy, U.S. Navy Reserves*

*U.S. Army National Guard Veteran*

* 11 September 2021 *
*Fredericktown, PA*


The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Sergeant First
Class Lee R. Goozdich, a U.S. Navy, U.S. Navy Reserves and Army National
Guard Retired veteran, to stand in silent honor for his service then escort
for the interment.

Lee enlisted in the U. S. Navy May of 1961, served during the Cuban Missile
Crisis and completed his time with the U.S. Navy with last duty assignment
Patrol Squadron May of 1965. Five months later, Lee entered the U.S. Navy
Reserves with last duty assignment, Aircraft Technician October of 1969 .
Later Lee made the decision to enter the U.S. Army National Guard August of
1977, assigned to the 1st Battalion 104th Aviation, both with Washington
and Johnstown, Pennsylvania until he retired August of 2002, with 24 years
of service and received the rank of Sergeant First Class before being
honorably discharged.

Decorations include the Good Conduct Medal (Navy), Army Reserve Components
Achievement Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal (3rd Award),
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal and the NCO
Professional Deployment (Army). Upon retirement, Lee was also the recipient
of the Order of St. Michaels Bronze Award for Excellence in Army Aviation.
Following time served, Lee became a Civilian Contractor by the Department
of Defense as an Aircraft Inspector and retired after 30 years of service.

Lee was a member of the Association of CivilianTechnicians and a member of
the VFW Post #4793 in Waynesburg.

Lee served our country and his community with honor, now it's our turn to
stand in honor for him.

Military Rites will be accorded graveside by the U.S. Army and the VFW Post
# 4793 Waynesburg.


Members can attend all of a mission or any part of the mission. PGR sets no
time for a member to escort and or stand a mission. We Thank you for
whatever time you give us and the families of our heroes appreciate your
time.
