Vietnam Veterans Commemoration Ceremony.*




Hello,



The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be holding a Vietnam Veterans
Commemoration Ceremony on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 9:00am.  The ceremony
will be held at the assembly area across from the Public Information Center.



We will conduct a wreath laying ceremony and no-contact presentation of
lapel pins ceremonies for Vietnam War Veterans in honor of their valued
service to our Nation.  Please pass the word to all Vietnam Veterans who
have not yet received a lapel pin and who have not been officially welcomed
home.



The commemoration of Vietnam War Veterans Day, which was designated in law
as Monday, March 29th, marks the end point in 1973 when U.S. troops left
South Vietnam ending America’s direct military involvement.



Due to the on-going COVID pandemic and to protect the health and safety of
cemetery team members and guests from the community, I am asking that only
1 representative from each organization attend and welcome home those
Vietnam Veterans who have not yet received a lapel pin.  I am also asking
that all attendees wear face coverings and maintain social distancing of at
least 6 feet.
