The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of Mark Raymond
Brown, a U.S. Army veteran and one of us, a Patriot Guard Rider, to stand
in silent honor for his service.
Mark enlisted in the U.S. Army May of 1982, assigned to Battery C 2nd
Battalion 41st Field Artillery, having served overseas in Germany then
transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves May of 1985 and was honorably
discharged with the rank of Specialist (E4) May of 1988.
Decorations include the Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster.
Following time served, Mark became a member of the American Legion and
American Legion Riders Post #474 Zelienople. Later Mark was promoted to
Road Captain, making sure all events ran smoothly and safely. Through
Mark's efforts of being a Road Captain, Mark was promoted to Sergeant at
Arms of Pennsylvania, his duties were to ensure all rules that are set
forth in the constitution and by laws are followed and adhered to and shall
maintain order at all state American Legion activities. Not only was Mark a
member, Mark was an asset to the Legion, respected and loved by all.
Mark loved his country and his community and wanted to do more, to honor
and To Stand For Those Who Stood For Us and became a Patriot Guard Rider,
joined December of 2016.
Because of Mark and Leadership with the American Legion in Zelienople,
together we were and continue to ensure our Hometown Heroes who proudly
served or currently serving, are honored.
Mark served our country with honor, inviting all to honor our American Hero
& Brother.
